Permaculture
Mission and Vision:
Permaculture
A critical aspect of the center is land preservation. We are committed to giving back to our community and preserving the surrounding rainforest that is currently threatened and ravaged due to environmental destruction and deforestation.
Our goal is to repair and restore the jungle back to her original glory through sustainable and holistic permaculture practices. This includes implementing a recycling program, as well as rebuilding the soil and creating food forests, helping both Ishmin Center and neighboring local Shipibo communities to become self-sustaining. In addition we plan to cultivate a botanical garden of plant medicines, allowing passengers and students to diet, study and work with master plants.
We are also establishing a work trade program for those with permaculture experience. Volunteer opportunities are available for 3 and 6 month positions. Please email for more information.
