At Ishmin we are strong advocates for responsible ecotourism: preserving and protecting the environment, supporting our local indigenous communities and educating our guests on the local plants and their pharmacological properties, as well as methods of preparation such as vapor and flower baths, purgative treatments, salves and tinctures.

Our programs offers 1-3 day ecological excursions into the surrounding jungle, with activities such as hiking, canoeing and medicinal walks, identifying the master plants and trees that grow on Ishmin’s rich land. In addition, we offer visits to local Shipibo communities, with an emphasis on education in traditional dance, food and art.

These tours give local tribes a venue to share their culture, sell their art and textiles, providing them with the necessary means to support themselves, their children and their villages.

Ishmin Center will also be employing local Shipibo to work at the center, training them on how to help support an Ayahuasca retreat, a valuable skill in a burgeoning industry.
